The 2017 VW e-Golf is coming to Vancouver
Volkswagen Canada is bringing a very limited number of Volkswagen e-Golfs to Canada. The future has arrived! Here are the details.
What is the e-Golf?
The e-Golf is a fully electric version of the existing Mk 7 Golf that sees the traditional gasoline TSI engine replaced with a fully electric powertrain. This means no more trips to the gas station. Just plug it in, charge it up, and drive away.
How far will it go on a full charge?
A carefully-driven e-Golf will take you up to 201 km on a single charge.
Where can I charge it up?
The e-Golf can be juiced up at home using a conventional domestic socket. This is convenient, but for a variety of reasons wall-mounted charging stations are recommended to charge electric vehicles at home. These are safer, quicker and more efficient. You can also charge an e-Golf at any electric vehicle charging stations around the country.
How long does it take to reach full charge?
With DC Fast Charging, simply plug your e-Golf to a fast-charging station and you'll be charged up as little as 30-45 minutes.
Is it fun to drive?
Yes! The e-Golf’s electric motor produces 115 hp and 199 ft-lbs torque, giving it real get-up-and-go. And because electric motors don’t need to be wound up to some high RPM to produce maximum power, all of that torque is available as soon as you step on the accelerator. It’ll do 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds and top out at 140 km/h.
